Radioaktivität (Radon)
Radon ist ein gasförmiges Zerfallsprodukt von Radium, welches in der Erdkruste natürlich vorhanden ist. Es gelangt aus dem Erdboden und auffälligen Baumaterialien in die Luft. Im Innenraum können sich die Konzentrationen anreichern. Dabei gibt es große lokale Unterschiede. Radon verursacht den größten Beitrag zur Strahlenexposition der Bevölkerung aus natürlichen Strahlenquellen in Deutschland.
Biologische Auswirkung:
Das radioaktive Radon ist besonders gefährlich, da es direkt in die Lunge gelangt. Dabei Alpha radiation is created directly on the sensitive surface of the lungs.
